Are the OFMDFM there to provide public leadership with the invention and implementation of new ideas and/or businesses and/or Intellectual Property or there to assist private leadership with such novelties, which will invariably be only the provision of seed funding from the public purse/myriad available grants and EU honey pots for such as may be proposed to them as being worthy of funding, ….. or just to arrange for the collection of taxation on new projects, should any necessary finance, which is usually all that any smart entrepreneur needs from a third party not actually working in their field, be privately arranged and supplied?

All of which renders the offices little more than a protection racket extorting with menaces, taxation, which doesn’t make it an attractive proposition for any businessman unless funded by government, for then is the government’s “cut” fair and reasonable.

Are the OFMDFM there to provide public leadership with the invention and implementation of new ideas and/or businesses and/or Intellectual Property or there to assist private leadership with such novelties, which will invariably be only the provision of seed funding from the public purse/myriad available grants and EU honey pots for such as may be proposed to them as being worthy of funding, ….. or just to arrange for the collection of taxation on new projects, should any necessary finance, which is usually all that any smart entrepreneur needs from a third party not actually working in their field, be privately arranged and supplied?

All of which renders the offices little more than a protection racket extorting with menaces, taxation, which doesn’t make it an attractive proposition for any businessman unless funded by government, for then is the government’s “cut” fair and reasonable.

Rather than it being frustration, DB, there are times whenever it is very disappointing that there appears to be no bite in the main body of the debate, but it is very encouraging to read of so many who see the root problem …. the love of which is guaranteeing the system destroys itself whilst trying to maintain the systems which are destroying itself. It is easier to crash the crooked system, Scott, if they, the powers that be, choose not to engage with new players who can crash the system and wipe out ponzi currencies, to level the playing field with everyone starting from Ground Zero. Of course, there is fiction and there is fact, but whether or not there is any difference between the two of them, other than that which is afforded to them by their Product Placement in an alternate time zone/geophysical location/metadata rich environment for a Present Reality [factual use] or a Future Fantasy [fictional use], is a moot point.

There would be a probably somewhat alien view which would posit that there is no earthly difference between the two of them, and they are always one and the same at all times, and quite different at specific times.

In the Northern Ireland political leadership there is an Imagination and Intelligence Deficit, which has them unable to kick start the private sector, which generates wealth with novel innovation and extremely sophisticated programs.

And whenever I say “has them unable to kick start the private sector, which generates wealth with novel innovation and extremely sophisticated programs” that really translates into them being unable to supply seed funds to businesses and/or programs, which they don’t understand, but which their owners would assure them would do exactly as they would say it would do, but which if the Intellectual Property involved were to fall into the wrong hands, would be likely to be abused and used against the economy, and cause it quite catastrophic damage.

Can anyone here on Slugger advise on who in government is qualified to issue a decision on a proposal for seed funding which would be discussing such a highly sensitive program? For there’s no point in talking to the monkey whenever it is the organ grinder who makes the decision, and the fewer people who would know of what was being discussed in such a meeting, the safer it would be for them.

I fully appreciate that normally such ventures are private sector funded and then pitched to government for use under contract, rather than this more novel approach which would reverse that model, but then it is Northern Ireland and the folk here do have their own way of doing things and Stormont is a new governance body, which doesn’t have to follow the failed model of other discredited institutions, just because they might be expected to, or would be advised that they have to because it is the way it has always been done. And if you are responsible for the birth of a project, are you fully entitled to enjoy the fruits of its success, with an arrangement for it to be a public service, albeit with it supplied privately because of its sensitive nature.

It is easier to crash the crooked system, Scott, if they, the powers that be, choose not to engage with new players who can crash the system and wipe out ponzi currencies, to level the playing field with everyone starting from Ground Zero. That is quite an inflammatory thing to say, hibeam. You’ll have to explain it in more detail and offer some sort of proof for it to be believable and actionable. Some others would tell you such turmoil is caused by just one person sat at a keyboard, plugged into a server and god knows where they are sitting right now. Hell, it could even be in the likes of a Fort Meade.

It is naivety, bordering on delusion, to imagine that however well composed and sent, there is more of a likelihood of you being ignored than of there ever being a hard copy reply. Haven’t you yet realised that for a politician to reply to a missive is to acknowledge receipt of it, and to have one’s views out in the open for all to see and peer review, and to be held account for. They are not in the business of servering you your needs, they are in the business of maintaining and improving theirs and their controllers/financial donors, at the expense of yours.

One needs only to think on the present state of play, to realise the truth of that.

It is naivety, bordering on delusion, to imagine that however well composed and sent, there is more of a likelihood of you being ignored than of there ever being a hard copy reply. Haven’t you yet realised that for a politician to reply to a missive is to acknowledge receipt of it, and to have one’s views out in the open for all to see and peer review, and to be held account for. They are not in the business of servering you your needs, they are in the business of maintaining and improving theirs and their controllers/financial donors, at the expense of yours.

Although in the state of play as it is nowadays, is it not the Office of Cyber Security today, which leads at point, fronting in such fields as require Intelligence Distribution? So there would be another systems failure point with a chief out of their depth and drowning.
