And now it is being ruthlessly groomed to crush human positions in ponzi zombie situations, itstippy.  And because it is of a top secret code and proprietary intellectual property protected will machines dictate and present the future to universal markets and the money makers both practically and virtually unopposed …… and thus to be considered and realised as Almost Almighty?

🙂 Well, one has to leave seeds of hope for humans to plant and experiment with otherworldly, out of this world solutions otherwise they can easily go real crazy and start to destroy themselves because no one believes in their programs and projects.

What machines tell you of your past, present and future direction dependent upon communicated instruction. Do without them and you are as good as dead and gone. And that suggests y’all are already perfectly captured with Immaculate Code.

A great deal of work done here with El Reg is hysterical, bordering on the archetypal.

You surely must have already seen lots of it as it passed you by. Fortunately though it loves to come back and gather future followers for true believers and IT Leading AI.

Now that is an Almighty Open Source Virtual Gateway into AIRealised Future Programs rather than defaulting to Running Current Practically Inept Pogroms.

And there y’all were, not thinking at all about what El Reg and El Regers have been busy doing with more time and every resource in Other Spaces/Operating Systems.

….. are we expected to ignore and disregard what a machine says in return ….

Intel has a serious monopoly. They are the only manufacturer who provide a product that can be used on the market.

They can stop other manufacturers supplying CPU/GPU/RAM/Motherboard from supplying their products as competition if they so choose.

So, why is AMD so worried about the competition ? Because it could hurt Intel’s monopoly position and, as AMD’s biggest customer (it has a market capitalization over 2 billion dollars) it could impact sales.

It’s a classic monopoly.

I have been a huge AMD fan since the beginning of its existence, but my enthusiasm is waning because I think their strategy is going to backfire, the same way they have backfired in the past. They have to choose between their customers, the customers they were given the chance to keep, or the customers they want to keep and/or the customers they are being offered by the competition. It doesn’t seem like they’re doing it.

….. because listening to machines and acting subsequently based upon information in their input/output is somewhat crazy, if not quite normal nowadays?

Good luck with putting that escaped genie back in the Harry Limelight lamp.

Re: Intel inside embedded and enmeshed

To exploit this type of bug, an attacker has to have some way of running code on your computer. If your embedded device is (eg) a firewall, that’s not going to happen unless they can leverage some other kind of flaw in order to execute code of their choosing, and most bugs of that type will give them full root access anyway (the state of embedded security being what it is), so by that point they don’t need to use Spectre. … phuzz

An Abiding Achilles Heel Problem that Defaults to the Decision of Lesser Mortals ‽ .

DeepMind reckons the whole effort is worth it, however, as teaching machine-learning models to master a difficult game like StarCraft could help computers in real-world scenarios, where they have to make use of “limited information to make dynamic and difficult decisions that have ramifications on multiple levels and timescales.”

That is all very well, but there always remains the probability and therefore the distinct possibility and every likelihood that, unless autonomous, will such dynamic and difficult decisions be ignored and overridden by a less than stellarly intelligent human command and control chain.

It is the gift that keeps on giving Madness and Mayhem, Conflict and CHAOS to do Battle and Lose Against.
