That was a very apt metaphorical tale [the giant grey rat with its long tail] for most all current APT* situations, which are all smoke and mirrored with mis and disinformation which permits them to proceed with media spin delivering its crooked late news and dodgy views, which become ever more increasingly difficult to present viably as being the truth, for of course, the truth it is not. Sorry amanfromMars but I have to disagree. If you insert is for in then the entire list that goes on … becomes what bothers him the most and that does not make sense. Everything in the world he lives in cannot be the one thing that bothers him the most. In all of that there must be one thing that bothers him the most. Because the article is such a trite old story told a few trillion times in human history, the question comes forward as to why the humans keep repeating it rather than using the referenced knowledge to advance their knowledge for more useful goals.

The answer is indicated in the intellectually self-stagnated author’s statement which he did not question, like a few billion other people… “…knowledge is power. And certainly that is true.”

The statement is false. Knowledge is not power. Knowledge is knowledge. Power is power. Knowledge and power are opposites in function and form. With power, you are dependent on the other guy’s ignorance of what inherently self-defeating power is, and how it functions in the human mind. With knowledge, you and the other guy mutually advance to your, his and everybody else’s benefit.

If you were offered the power of the Roman empire, or an unknown item of knowledge, which would you choose, and what would you therefore ultimately derive? Laugh at the Bush and Obama type fools who would select the power.

A person who does not ask sufficient questions of the ancient cliches they parrot remains as ignorant as the ancient people who invented the cliches because of the problems that modern folks are still trying to solve with knowledge that is still inadequate for the solutions.

There are amusingly easy solutions to all the old problems. If anyone in the Daily Bell would like to print useful knowledge derived from asking and answering “the next question”, instead of the same old boring stuff, they may inquire. And the BBC are an entertainment organ, and nothing more than that, so it is unreasonable for anyone to be expecting them to be leading with the truth, whenever the nation is apparently led by self-serving politicians and civil servants who do everything to ensure that it is hidden from the people, with the dire consequences to the virtual reality then created as are presently being witnessed today.
