IMO the next step for the Internet is a “semantic net” which leads to what we call the “global brain.” The global brain will be one of several ways super intelligent AI will emerge by 2035. After this happens — what’s known as the Singularity — humanity will either partner with AI, be abolished by it or be ignored by it. After thousands of hours of thought on these choices, I have come to the conclusion SAI will partner with Humanity. Even so, it will be unclear as to how sole or merged SAI will treat the power elite as SAI is autonomous, by definition. I wonder if the nature of the Internet Reformation is much deeper than that of the one 500 years ago. The level of education among the broad population of people in the world today is much deeper than that in the 16th century. If so, the effect may be much deeper as well.

To a communications engineer, political or any other control of the free flow of information is a fault, as in general any who oppose the march of truth and freedom are “faulty” and will invoke a response proportional to and sufficient to counter any harm they may inflict.

Third, users will form their own private ad-hoc networks, unobservable by elites. If there is anything elites hate worse than their information / plans being exposed it is for others to have the ability to “conspire” against them, in secret and unobserved until it is time to unleash blowback.

The future of the world belongs to those who can freely share the special intelligence needed to take over present elite positions which have exhausted their intellectual property portfolios and have no new fabulous product and/or business venture to offer.

Why start at the bottom with nothing for Change, whenever the smart move is to render assistance at the top, where all the problems are stored and no answers are given or relief actions taken.
