I recently closed a business account with Barclays, with a small balance to be sent to me.  The Barclays customer liaison on the other end of the phone advised me that such would be done by cheque rather than simple and effective and quick electronic transfer to another bank account.
A week later the cheque duly arrived  …… crossed and made out to the closed business account.
In any other business would such be outed as a scam?
