Catch 42
Security systems and secretive societies have as a much, if not even more of a problem and/or opportunity, with emails to and/or about them, and to myriad others, which are not encrypted and which carry in plain sight text, information and intelligence which vulnerable and compromisable parties would rather not become widespread general knowledge.
The fact is compounded and strengthened by such vulnerable, compromisable parties, in ways which can be suddenly catastrophic to those parties, if they choose not to engage in a spirit of mutual advantage with such intelligence in state or non state actors, for that non action is an open invitation for information to flow directly elsewhere to what might be considered opposition and competition, where it can surely be used to initial contacts’ great disadvantage.

Who Dares Win Wins Wisely ‽ .
“It’s important for folks to recognize that cyber is not the solution to everything. A cyber response is not always the right mechanism to respond to a cyber event that happens to us,” he says.
Quite so. A very simple and effective response can easily be an appropriate significant and attractive dollar payment in exchange for a binding undertaking/memorandum of understanding to stop an unfolding cyber event and/or an imagined possible and thought highly likely to be initiated event.
After all, it is not as if the cost to save something/everything deemed valuable and worth defending, was rescued by anything expensive whenever it is just pretty paper/fiat promissory notes. Indeed, such payments are a mutually beneficial godsend in that they can be freely spent on all manner of things and services which immediately returns the investment back to source …. for further engaging investment opportunities/zeroday vulnerability exploits.

Hi, Anonymous,
All comments to C42 Quantum Communication Control Systems are not censored by AI@ITsWork. And second and third party thoughts shared to its websites will always be aired for consideration.
If you are referring to the SIGNAL Magazine [AFCEA] website, I have no idea at all about how they deal with comments which they provide a facility for. It is disappointing, and maybe even quite revealing, that comments supplied do not automatically immediately appear for greater viewing.

The money will also be used to develop Britain’s “sovereign capabilities in cyberspace,” according to the MoD.
Given Britain’s historic sovereign capabilities, to imagine any sort of leading cyberspace facility is a step too far to realise and virtualise, and from the MOD ……. oh please, you cannot be serious. Such is risible.
Our increasing defense budget means that we can stay ahead of our adversaries in cyberspace, while also investing in conventional capabilities. …. Fallon said.
Whatever is Fallon smoking?

When journalism is lazy, AI and IT are dangerous internetworking things ‽ .
As I said, lazy journalism. However, having watched the BBC for many years, almost all their correspondents have little idea of what they’re talking about. They regularly misidentify and misreport almost everything under the sun. ….. Mad Mike
Hi, Mad Mike,
Is not all news, stories spun subjectively to micro/macromanage a greater median perception with hidden agendas/secretive plans/politically incorrect projects ….. Governments Admit that Much of Modern History Has Been Manipulated By False Flag Attacks ….. educating, entertaining and informing one of another existence/virtual reality/fearful state/crazy space?
Who and/or what does the truth hurt, whenever news is tall tales which mislead, misidentify and misreport almost everything under the sun?

Surely nothing new to see there? Everyone’s doing it, with some good, and many more bad at IT
As Pennycook told us, the CDE was seeking out “anyone with an innovative idea that has a potential defence or national security application. In focusing on innovative technologies our investments in science and technology research are high risk with high potential benefit.”
Hmmm? ……. An InQTel/DARPA/IARPA clone and remote controlled drone for fantastic programming? ….. InQTel / DARPA / IARPA
And who and/or what do the MOD CDE work for? Are they Puppet Servant or Master Puppeteer?
